Earth and Arbor Day

Since 1989, the Village and Park District have partnered to create the Earth and Arbor Day Celebration. This event is held annually in April and includes a recycling center for residents, a sustainable vendor exhibition and volunteering opportunities. This page overviews the event and ways to get involved.

Location and Hours

The Recycling Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the west Metra parking lot. The center will close promptly at noon, so coming early is encouraged. Entrances will be posted on the southern end of the lot.

Vendor Exhibition

As part of the celebration, a vendor exhibition is held at Village Green Park from 9 a.m. to noon. This gives residents and visitors an opportunity to talk to and learn from exhibitors who will be on hand to present information on environmentally friendly products and ideas. In addition to the exhibition, food and children's activities (including pony rides) will be available.

Interested in being a vendor? All open slots are taken this year, but we'll post the application for 2019 in May.
