Project Description


This project will focus on the replacement of the original 1960's water main along Bordeaux Drive (from Bordeaux Court to Brittany Road), Normandy Lane (from Dauphine Avenue to its east end) and the 600 block of Dauphine Avenue.

Construction Notification Letters:

At the end of March, the Village mailed initial construction notices to all residents with homes that are located in the project's vicinity. Residents with homes that require a new water service line and shut off box received information about the potentials of the planned work. Please see copies of these notices below:

June 15, 2018

This week, the Village’s contractor completed the installation of the new 8-inch water main on Dauphine Avenue and started work on Normandy Lane. Next week, crews will install fire hydrants on Dauphine and Normandy and start with the installation of service lines to individual residences on Bordeaux Drive.

This week, the Village’s contractor started installing service lines to individual residences on Bordeaux Drive.
Crews also pressure-tested and chlorinated the new water mains on Dauphine Avenue and Normandy Lane.
Next week, the contractor will continue installing service lines on Bordeaux Drive.


June 1, 2018

This week, the Village’s contractor completed the installation of the new 8-inch water main on Bordeaux Drive and started work on the north end of the project at Dauphine Avenue. Next week, crews will pressure test and chlorinate the new main and begin installing new water service lines on Bordeaux Drive. 


May 25, 2018

This week, the Village’s contractor completed installation of the new 8-inch water main on Bordeaux Drive. Next week, crews will pressure test and chlorinate the new main and begin installing new water service taps.



May 18, 2018

This week, the Village’s contractor began trench excavation and installation of the new 8-inch water main on Bordeaux Drive at Bordeaux Court. Staff anticipates crews will complete installing the new main along Bordeaux Drive, between Bordeaux Court and Brittany Court, next week. Once this work is complete, pressure testing and chlorination of the new mains will begin.


May 11, 2018

Due to the contractor’s scheduling conflict, work on this project will begin Monday, May 14, weather permitting. Initial work will include the installation of new water main beginning at the intersection of Bordeaux Drive and Brittany Road and moving north along Bordeaux.

April 27, 2018 - Work to begin Monday, April 31

Next week, the Village’s contractor will begin work on the Charlemagne Water Main Replacement Project. This work will include replacing the original 1966 6-inch diameter cast iron water main along Bordeaux Drive (from Bordeaux Court to Brittany Road), Normandy Lane (from Dauphine Avenue to its east end) and the 600 block of Dauphine. Initial work will include the installation of new main beginning at the intersection of Bordeaux and Brittany and moving north along Bordeaux.

Crews will complete a temporary water shut down for customers located near the intersection of Bordeaux and Brittany on Tuesday, May 1, weather permitting. All impacted customers will be notified in advance of this shut down.
