Property & Evidence Custody

The Property and Evidence Custody Unit is responsible for the proper inventory and storage of all property and evidence placed into the custody of the Police Department. Rules of evidence and laws regarding the proper procedure for handling property and evidence requires the Property Officer to be well versed and trained. Computer based tracking systems allow constant supervision of property and evidence while the property is on-site or at court or the crime laboratory.

The Property and Evidence Custody Unit is staffed by one civilian Property Officer and is supervised by the Community Relations Sergeant.
