This project involves supplementing the existing 42-inch storm sewer on Brittany Road by constructing approximately 375 feet of 48-inch storm sewer to drain the low area on the street to the 48-inch storm sewer outlet on Bordeaux Road. The inlets within the low area will connected to that new storm sewer and new inlets will added. Additionally, a downstream structure will be added to help control the flow of flood water.
As part of this work, the existing 450 feet of water main located on Brittany Road between Bordeaux and Dauphine will also be replaced.
On Tuesday, June 9, the Village Board approved Resolution 2020-78, which awarded the construction contract to Lenny Hoffman Excavating, Inc.
Construction NoticeOn Thursday, June 11, the Village issued initial construction notices to all potentially impacted properties for this project. A copy of this notice may be found at this link.

Project LocationsThe project will be limited to Brittany Road between Bordeaux and Dauphine.
September 29, 2020The Contractor has advised they will begin work on repairing the concrete pavement at the intersection of Brittany Court/Road and Bordeaux Drive. This pavement was previously disturbed during water main and storm sewer construction activities. The pavement replacement at the intersection will be phased to ensure at least one lane of traffic is maintained on Bordeaux Drive and Brittany Court at all times. Residents should expect traffic delays during working hours at this intersection. Motorists are urged to use caution traveling through the intersection while it is under construction.
September 21, 2020The contractor has advised they plan to be on site Monday (9/21) placing concrete pavement on the south side of Brittany Road. This concrete will need approximately one (1) week to cure to gain sufficient strength before the road can be opened. After completion of concrete paving on Brittany Road the Contractor will complete staged pavement repairs at the intersection of Bordeaux and Brittany as well as begin parkway restoration work on Brittany Road.
August 21, 2020Thank you for your continued patience as work on Brittany Road between Bordeaux Drive and Dauphine Avenue progresses. Currently the new storm sewers are installed. The new water main has been installed and passed all tests. The last new water service line will be transferred from the old water main to the new water main by the end of today. Only two connections of the new water main to the existing water system remain (scheduled for Monday and Tuesday) and then all underground work will be completed.
Next week the contractor will complete sidewalk repairs on the block and then begin pavement reconstruction. The road will be reconstructed one half at a time. With each half taking roughly 10 to 14 days to complete (depending on weather). While one half is being reconstructed there will be one lane of one way traffic provided for residents but the road will remain closed to thru traffic. During the work day while the road is being reconstructed there will be construction trucks on the one open lane of traffic blocking the road. So residents will experience delays due to the construction traffic. After the first half of the road has been constructed and the concrete has cured long enough to support traffic work on the other side of the road will begin. After both sides of the road have been reconstructed the road will be re-opened to traffic and last work item which is parkway restoration work will begin.
A written notice will be provided to the residents living within the reconstruction limits next week. The notice will contain additional information about driveway access restrictions.
