Flamingo Fridays

What are Flamingo Fridays?

Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, residents are invited to host a Flamingo Friday party in their neighborhood. Despite the name, they do not need to take place on a Friday! These gatherings are the perfect opportunity for residents – both new and old – to make new friends, meet new people, or just reconnect with their neighbors. Whoever volunteers to host their neighborhood’s next Flamingo Friday obtains the flamingo from the previous host or from Village Hall and displays it on their lawn a few days before the party, signaling to the neighborhood where the next Flamingo Friday event will be. The host only needs to provide the driveway or lawn space for the party. No effort needed! Everyone provides their own drinks, snacks, and chairs.

The Northbrook Community Commission is excited to continue this unique Northbrook tradition that brings our neighborhoods together in a fun and inclusive way.
