Statement from the Village Board on Anti-Semitic Incidents in Northbrook

Statement from Village Board

The Village of Northbrook has experienced incidents where flyers containing anti-Semitic hate speech and propaganda were distributed in our community. The materials appear to be placed at random and not targeted to specific residents. The Northbrook Police Department actively investigates these incidents when they occur and works hard every day to keep our community safe.

The Northbrook Village Board would like to reaffirm on behalf of the community that we unequivocally condemn anti-Semitism and all acts of hate. As a Village, we stand together with the Jewish community, family members, friends, and neighbors. Northbrook is an inclusive community, and we welcome all. We reject hate directed at any person or group based on race, religion, color, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or any other feature that distinguishes us from one another. We stand together as neighbors and reject discrimination and hatred.

We ask that you join us and your fellow Northbrook neighbors in standing up against hate. Sign the Village’s Welcoming and Inclusive Community Pledge at northbrook.il.us/communitypledge.
