January 13, 2026, 7:30 p.m. Meeting
Highlights of action taken include:
- Provided notice of an application for rezoning by School District 27 for Wood Oaks Jr. High School for property at 1250-1390 Sanders Road and a Public Hearing before the Plan Commission will be scheduled as early as February 2026.
- Provided notice that an application for a special permit has been filed for a portion of 875 Sanders Road and a Public Hearing before the Plan Commission will be scheduled as early as February 2026 for an indoor golf training facility.
- Approved the ceremonial appointment of Judy Hughes as Member Emeritus on the Ad Hoc 125th Anniversary Celebration Commission. She was recently appointed to the Commission on December 9, 2025 as Northbrook Historical Society President prior to her passing.
- Approved an amendment to Chapter 27 of the Northbrook Municipal Code increasing the threshold that a water utility balance can be waived on a case-by-case basis.
- Approved an ordinance requiring the relocation of existing ComEd electrical lines at 820 Dundee Road associated with the construction of a new Fire Station 11.
- Approved the transfer of a previously approved development agreement to Pulte Home Company for The Reserve at the Brook at 3700 Dundee Road.
- Held a public hearing and approved an electronic message sign at 3323 Walters Avenue, commonly referred to as the Leisure Center.
- Held a Preliminary Review of a request for recommendation to Cook County on a 6B property tax incentive at 2525 Shermer Road. The Preliminary Review by the Village Board is a conceptual review for the Village Board to provide non-binding comments on a proposal prior to the applicant submitting to the Village a detailed application.
- Approved a Limited Groundwater Use Ordinance at the southeast corner of Meadow Road and Cherry Lane/Church Street, commonly known as 1901 Cherry Lane requested by the property owner as part of their work with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency seeking State approval that contamination on the property meets all required cleanup standards also known as a No Further Remediation (NFR) Letter.
