Village Board of Trustees
The Village Board of Trustees is made up of the Village President and six trustees.

Architectural Control Commission
The Architectural Control Commission (ACC) is composed of seven (7) members each being a licensed professional engineer, a builder, or a superintendent of construction with at least ten (10) years of experience.

Arts Commission
The Arts Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the Board of Trustees to encourage the development and enjoyment of the arts in Northbrook.

Board of Fire & Police Commissioners
This board contributes to the safety of Northbrook.

Board of Local Improvements
The Board of Local Improvements is convened to consider petitions for neighborhood improvements (street lights, sewers and streets) which are to be paid for through a special assessment.

Community Commission
The Community Commission's mission is to encourage understanding and respect, acknowledge the value of diversity in the community, and encourage openness in Northbrook to all persons, regardless of race, ethnicity, color, immigration or refugee status, religion or creed, gender or sexual orientation, age, mental or physical disability, veteran status, or other social identities.

Disability Inclusion Commission
The Disability Inclusion Commission shall coordinate and/or carry out programs in order to bring about full and equal participation in all aspects of life in Northbrook for people with disabilities.

Economic Strategy Commission
The Economic Strategy Commission shall act in an advisory capacity to the Village President and Board of Trustees on matter related to economic development and business retention.

Electrical Commission
The Electrical Commission reviews the Village's Codes pertaining to the installation of electrical systems and equipment.

Emergency Telephone Systems Board
Funding for the Emergency Telephone System is governed by the Emergency Telephone Systems Board.

Firefighters' Pension Fund
The mission of the Northbrook Firefighters Pension Fund is to maintain the fiduciary responsibility of the prudent investment of fund contributions and appropriate administration of benefits to fund participants while maintaining full compliance with statutory requirements.

Foreign Fire Insurance Board
The Foreign Fire Insurance Board shall manage and administer the money in the Foreign Fire Insurance Fund as required by state statute for the maintenance, use, and benefit of the Fire Department.

Northbrook Rural Fire Protection District
The Northbrook Rural Fire Protection District was created by State statute as a taxing mechanism to generate revenue for fire department services. The trustees administer the funds through a contract for services from the Village of Northbrook.

Senior Services Commission
The Commission is concerned with all financial and operational senior citizen housing matters relating to Crestwood Place, a village-owned senior citizen housing development.

Stormwater Management Commission
The ten member advisory Stormwater Management Commission was originated in 1992 to work with residents, staff, consultants and the Board of Trustees to develop a Master Plan for stormwater management for the entire Village.

Sustainability Commission
The Sustainability Commission's mission is to focus on issues including air pollution, noise abatement, solid waste disposal, resource recycling, and other environmental quality problems as well as advancing sustainability goals and programs within the Village's adopted Climate Action Plan.

TIF Joint Review Board
An annual meeting is usually held near the middle of October. At that meeting, the annual TIF activities are reviewed, minutes of previous meetings are approved, any new TIF legislation reviewed, and a discussion of any new TIF projects and initiatives.

Transportation Advisory Committee
The Transportation Advisory Committee discusses and approves expenditures of collected traffic impact fees.
