Project Description:

The Willow Creek projects will be completed in two phases. The first phase will include water main improvements including the replacement of the original 1960's main on Longmeadow Drive, Elm Ridge Drive and Kingston Drive. Following completion of that work, asphalt roadway resurfacing will be completed on those same roadways. Phase two work will be completed in 2022 on the portions of Canterbury, Woodland and Wood located within the Willow Creek subdivision.

Enabling Resolutions

On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, the Village Board approved Resolution 2022-21, which awarded the contract for Water Main and Storm water improvements to Lenny Hoffman Excavating, Inc. of Wilmette, Illinois.

    Finally, a Landscaping Impact Exhibit has been developed to show grading, clearing, and expected tree removal locations as a result of the stormwater improvement project.

Friday, October 28

The contractor is substantially complete with work on this project.  Minor “punch list” items remain and will be addressed in the coming weeks.



Friday, October 21

This week, the contractor is working on restoration.  Next week, the contractor will continue to work on restoration for the project.

Saturday, October 15

This week, the contractor worked on restoration and completed all paving work.  Next week, the contractor will continue to work on restoration.

Monday, October 10


Last week, the contractor completed manhole adjustments and repaired brick driveway aprons. On Saturday, the contractor paved the final surface layer. This week, the contractor will continue restoration work.

Friday, September 30


This week, the contractor will complete the grinding of the streets along with asphalt and brick driveway repairs. They are planning on completing the base patching for the streets on Friday and Saturday. Next week, the contractor is planning on paving level binder, and then adjusting manhole structures.

Last week, the contractor completed all the curb work. This week, the contractor is planning on grinding and base patching the streets.

Monday, September 19


Last week, the contractor removed and poured new concrete curb along with repairing brick driveway aprons.  This week, the contractor will continue removing and pouring concrete curb and repairing brick driveway aprons.


Friday, September 9

This week, the contractor continued completing all the driveway gaps in the new curb along with saw-cutting.  Next week, the contractor will be removing curb and pouring new curb for the other side of the street.



Friday, September 2

This week, the contractor will complete all the curb work on one side of the street.  Next week, the contractor will be removing the 10’ driveway gaps and pouring them along with saw cutting and starting curb removal on the opposite side of the street.

This week, the contractor removed curb and prepared for pouring curb.  Next week, the contractor is planning on pouring new curb.

This week, the contractor completed all underground work and performed site cleanup in preparation for curb replacement and roadway resurfacing.

Next week, the paving contractor will begin mobilization in preparation for curb removal and replacement.

This week, the contractor installed storm sewer on Wood Drive between Canterbury and Woodland Drive along with storm sewer on Elm Ridge Drive from Woodland Drive to the box culvert. Additionally, the contractor placed temporary pavement on the watermain trench.

Next week, the contractor will complete all underground work and perform site cleanup in preparation for curb replacement and roadway resurfacing.

This week, the contractor installed storm sewer on Wood Drive between Canterbury and Woodland Drive.

Next week, the contractor will continue installing storm sewer on Wood Drive between Canterbury and Woodland Drive.  They will begin installing storm sewer on Elm Ridge Drive from Woodland Drive to the box culvert.

This week, the contractor installed the box culvert on Wood Drive between Canterbury and Woodland Drive.

Next week, the contractor will install storm sewer on Wood Drive between Canterbury and Woodland Drive.  They will also complete ditch grading work.

This week, the contractor substantially completed water main installation and began abandonment of the old main.  They also continued work in the drainage ditch.

Next week, the contractor will continue abandoning structures connected to the old main.  They will also install the new box culvert on Wood Drive between Canterbury Drive and Woodland Drive.

This week, the contractor continued transferring residential water services from the old water main to the new water main.  The contractor also continued work in the drainage ditch. 

Next week, the contractor will finish transferring residential water services from the old water main to the new water main, disconnect the old water main, and remove the old fire hydrants.  The contractor will also continue work in the drainage ditch.

This week, the contractor continued installing new water main on Canterbury Drive from Wood Drive to Pfingsten Road and new fire hydrants on Canterbury and Elm Ridge Drives.  The contractor also continued work in the drainage ditch.

Beginning Saturday and continuing next week, the contractor will begin transferring residential water services from the old water main to the new water main.  Residents will be provided a notice with the anticipated transfer date at least one day prior to the transfer.  The contractor will also continue work in the drainage ditch next week.

Friday, May 27


This week, the contractor continued installing new water main on Elm Ridge Drive, from the box culvert North towards Canterbury Drive, and began water main installation on Wood Drive North towards Canterbury Drive. The contractor also continued work in the drainage ditch.

Next week, the contractor intends to continue installing new water main on Canterbury Drive to Pfingsten Road. They will be pressure testing the new main installed on Canterbury drive between Elm Ridge Drive and Pfingsten Road.  They will also continue work in the drainage ditch.

Friday, May 20
This week, the contractor continued installing new water main on Canterbury Drive between Wood Drive and Elm Ridge Drive, and began water main installation on Elm Ridge Drive. The contractor also continued work in the drainage ditch.

Next week, the contractor intends to continue installing new water main on Elm Ridge Drive and to begin installing water main on Canterbury drive between Wood Drive and Pfingsten Road.  They will also continue work in the drainage ditch.

Friday, May 13
This week, the contractor continued installing new water main on Canterbury Drive between Wood Drive and Elm Ridge Drive. The contractor continued work in the drainage ditch and began dredging of the ditch.  Final surface installation took place on streets started in 2021. 


Next week the contractor intends to continue installing new water main on Canterbury Drive between Wood Drive and Elm Ridge Drive and continue work in the drainage ditch.

Friday, May 6


This week, the contractor continued installing new water main on Wood Drive between Canterbury Drive and Woodland Drive.  Additionally, the contractor completed tree removal in the drainage ditch and began ditch work.   Structures were adjusted in areas impacted by 2021 construction in preparation for final resurfacing.

Next week, the contractor will begin installing new water main on Canterbury Drive between Wood Drive and Elm Ridge Drive.  The contractor intends to continue work in the drainage ditch and begin dredging of the ditch.   Final surface installation will take place on streets started in 2021.

Friday, April 29


This week, the contractor installed new water main on Wood Drive between Canterbury Drive and Woodland Drive as well as new hydrants on Woodland Drive.  Additionally, the contractor continued fence and tree removal for the rear yard drainage ditch between Canterbury Drive and Woodland Drive.   Areas of construction from 2021 started roadway milling and resurfacing. 

Next week, the contractor intends to continue installing new water main on Wood Drive between Canterbury Drive and Woodland Drive.  The contractor will also continue tree removal in the drainage ditch and begin dredging.   Areas impacted by 2021 construction are expected to be complete. 

Friday, April 22


This week, the contractor connected the newly installed water main to the existing main at Woodland Drive and Pfingsten Road.  Additionally, areas impacted by 2021 construction were restored with sod.  The contractor also began fence and tree removal for the rear yard drainage ditch between Canterbury Drive and Woodland Drive.

Next week the contractor intends to install new water main on Wood Drive between Canterbury Drive and Woodland Drive as well as install new hydrants.  The contractor also intends to continue fence and tree removal for the rear yard drainage ditch between Canterbury Drive and Woodland Drive.  The areas impacted by 2021 construction will begin roadway resurfacing.

Friday, April 15


This week, the contractor continued water main installation on Woodland Drive.  Additionally, areas impacted by 2021 construction were prepared for sod restoration. 

Next week, the contractor intends to connect the newly installed water main to the existing main at Woodland Drive and Pfingsten Road, as well as install new water main on Wood Drive between Canterbury Drive and Woodland Drive.  Finally, the contractor intends to begin fence and tree removal for the rear yard drainage ditch between Canterbury Drive and Woodland Drive.

Areas impacted by the 2021 construction will also make progress next week with final sod restoration and paving of the roadways.  Both sod restoration as well as resurfacing operations are weather dependent.

This week, the contractor began new water main installation on Woodland Drive between Wood Drive and Pfingsten Road.  Next week, the contractor intends to continue water main installation on Woodland Drive between Wood Drive and Elm Ridge Drive.  Additionally, sod restoration for areas impacted by 2021 construction will occur.

This week, the contractor began layout, mobilization, and asphalt preparation for the project.  Next week, the contractor intends to begin new water main installation on Woodland Drive between Wood Drive and Pfingsten Road.

Friday, March 25


Next week, the contractor intends to begin layout and asphalt removal in preparation for new water
main installation.  This work will occur on Woodland Drive and Wood Drive.   They will also begin mobilization of equipment and materials to the subdivision.

Thursday, November 24


This week, the contractor finished the asphalt driveway repairs, filling dirt behind the curbs,
removing equipment, and bringing the area to a safe condition for the winter.  The project is on hold for the winter; the contractor will finish the remaining resurfacing next year.


Thursday, November 18

This week, the contractor did brick driveway repairs and driveway patching on Longmeadow and Elm Ridge Dr.  Additional landscaping work will follow.

Thursday, November 11

This week, the Contractor completed base patching operations. Next week, the Contractor will fill-in the area behind the curbs near the north end of the project and finish all driveway restorations. 

Thursday, November 5


This week, the contractor completed all of the concrete work including curb, sidewalk, and concrete driveways on Kingston Dr., Elm Ridge Dr., Wood Dr., and Longmeadow Dr.  Next week, the contractor will work on asphalt base patching on these streets, followed by pavement removal for the rest of week.

Thursday, October 28


This week, the contractor poured concrete curb on portions of Kingston., Wood and Elm Ridge and began removing curb on the northern side of Longmeadow, Wood and Elm Ridge in preparation for additional curb replacement in those areas next week.



Thursday, October 21

This week, the contractor removed and began replacement of curb on Kingston, Wood and Elm Ridge.  The contractor will also install string line for the placement of longer curb sections using a curb machine. This string acts as a guide for the machine and allows the placement of curb without special forms. These longer sections of curb will be installed early next week, weather permitting.

Thursday, October 14

This week, the Contractor completed saw cutting of old curb on Longmeadow, Wood ad Elm Ridge. Next week, cut curbs will be removed in preparation for replacement and paving work.


Thursday, October 7

Next week, the Contractor is anticipated to begin curb removal and replacement work on Longmeadow Drive, Wood Drive and Elm Ridge Drive.  


 
Thursday, September 30

This week, the Village's contractor began staking work in anticipation of curb replacement beginning next week on Longmeadow, Elm Ridge and Wood.

At this time, staff anticipates curb and resurfacing work will begin in the next few weeks. Details will be posted once they become available.


Thursday, September 9

Next week, staff anticipates that the Village’s asphalt resurfacing contractor will begin resurfacing and curb work on Longmeadow, Elm Ridge and Kingston. Regular updates will be posted as more details become available Initial work will include any curb work before the surface of the roadways are milled for resurfacing. 



Thursday, September 2

The contractor has completed all water main work associated with this phase of the project. Asphalt street resurfacing work will begin in the near future.

Friday, August 27

The contractor will perform temporary parkway and pavement restoration measures during the week of August 30.

Friday, August 20

The contractor will connect the new main to the existing main on Pfingsten and Kingston as well as well as perform the removal of old hydrants and valves during the week of August 23.

Friday, August 6

The contractor will begin pressure testing and chlorinating the new water main.  Once the new main is in service they will begin connecting residential water services to the new water main.

Friday, July 30

The contractor will continue installing new watermain in the roadway on Kingston and Elm Ridge. They will then begin pressure testing and chlorinating the new water main.

The contractor will continue installing new watermain in the roadway on Kingston and Elm Ridge. 

Friday, July 2

The contractor will continue temporary restoration work on Longmeadow and Elm Ridge.  They will then begin grinding the roadway on Kingston and Elm Ridge to prepare for installation of the new water main on those roadways. 

Friday, June 25

The contractor will make final water main connections at the intersections of Canterbury and Elm Ridge as well as Pfingsten and Longmeadow and begin temporary restoration work on Longmeadow and Elm Ridge.  They will then begin grinding the roadway on Kingston and Elm Ridge to prepare for installation of the new water main on those roadways. 

Friday, June 18

This week, the Village's contractor will connect existing water service lines to the new water main, generally starting on Longmeadow near Pfingsten and heading eastward toward Elm Ridge. Affected homes will experienced temporary water outages as their home is being transferred to the new main. Notices will be delivered to homes prior to work taking place on their service line.

Friday, June 11

This week, the Village's contractor pressure tested and chlorinated the new water main on Elm Ridge. Once this new main is in service, the contractor will begin connecting residential water services to it. 

Friday, June 4

The contractor is continuing to install new water main in the roadway on Elm Ridge.  They will then begin installing fire hydrants and pressure testing the new water main.

Friday, May 28

The contractor is continuing to install new watermain in the roadway on Longmeadow.  They will then install watermain in the roadway on Elm Ridge from Longmeadow to Canterbury. 


May 21, 2021

The contractor intends to begin new watermain installation in the roadway starting on Longmeadow near Pfingsten.  Roadway watermain installation will proceed eastward towards Elm Ridge Dr.
